My brakes on my spectra are OK, but not perfect. There are two problems. One is that when you push the brake pedal, noting happens until you push it further down. The second is that the brake pedal becomes hard occasionally when braking like the servo has given up.

Now, I know there is no air in the system, no leaks, and the seal around the piston in the master cylinder works because when I brake the brake pedal does not keep going to the floor. I have also checked the free-play.

I can't understand how the pedal can go down a little bit before braking happens. Where is the fluid going?

Anyone have any ideas or experience with Spectra brakes? Thanks :)
