I am trying to find some info on how to change to Transmission Fluid in my 2006 Sorrento.

I am trying to find directions on dropping the pan. Is there a filter in there? Should I drop the pan, or just pull the fuid out from the dipstick?

Any help would be appreciated!

I can answer for the 03 3.5 Sorento.
Remove drain plug.
Drain fluid. (Approx 4 qts).
Install plug. Fill to the level mark.
Check for leaks.
KIA calls for a "drain and fill" in the book.

There is not a service able filter in the 03 trans.

Thanks,,I tried looking for info to see if the 06 has a serviceable filter, but can't find anything.

At least I can get the fluid changed. I am planning on doing all the fluids this week, the Tranny, Transfer case and front and rear differentials.

i am looking at doing the same on the next service a little later in the year.
Can you comment, give advise on anything you found hard.

Also the actual fluid for the auto has been discussed greatly.
It is recommended to only use the Kia ATF Red-1.
