In my area there are lists of I4s at give away prices, then LXs then EXs but few if any SX V6s AWDs. Currently I was offered my by in price of $28750(with out Taxes , etc.) for my loaded SX for a new RX, but since I had one before and know the SX is so much faster and handles better with also better fuel mileage, I passed. The V6 AWD SX I still believe is the way to go if you are planning to trade within a few years. I am certain I will be keeping mine until they come out with the direct injection V6 with more power and economy.

I'm not particularly budget constrained, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the extra on an SX (versus and EX) for what I considered to be mostly "bling". The EX had all the actual features that I wanted including AWD + V6 + leather + fancy infotainment system. None of the other stuff really mattered to me. I don't normally trade in my vehicles every few years so I'm not concerned if the 2 or 3 year resale is impacted (negatively or otherwise). If I was going to flip cars every 2-3 years, I'd lease.

Best,

Agreed. I was really wondering about your Highlander thoughts as I may do the same thing later on this year.

Sounds like most of your Highlander driving is in town now?

Wasn't dissing you! Not personal. Showing trade-in and wholesale values of vehicle after 1 year old model year. The value of any car takes its' worst hit the first year. We never get the true retail sales info from a dealer which makes it almost impossible to determine what the retail vale of a used car really is. That info would also be helpful when trading as you suggest.

Sounds like you bought a fine vehicle. They have an excellent history, and hold their values better than most vehicles. Check out the wholesale auction activity on a 2010 Highlander 4wd/V6 Limited..... AWESOME!!!!!
