I have a 2006 Kia Sorento (manual drive) and having so many issues. The dealership said it needs:
INTERIOR HOOD LATCH HANDLE
ALTERNATOR BELT
A/C BELT
P/S BELT
BANK 1 CAT
BANK 2 CAT
2 GASKETS
CAT
ALL DISCONTINUED... WTH!!! As much as I love my car, I'm done with this. who discontinues parts? Any ideas where one goes to find items that are discontinued? Going to search eBay..

Every manufacturer.

Besides the Cats, those are just maintenance items and for a 20 year old car, that’s not bad. A Jeep the parts list would be 3x that. Try RockAuto and buy aftermarket belts, cats, etc. The latch handle, car-part.com and buy one used.

Your signature and vehicle info show you have a 2.4L, but I can’t find a 2.4L being offered on the 2006 Sorento, only see a 3.5L V6. And seeing you need a bank 1 and bank 2 cat indicates you have the V6.

Rock auto has the belts and aftermarket cats. Don’t know what gaskets you need but they have a bunch of those too. The latch handle would probably have to be used. The site I mentioned above or eBay would be where I’d look for that.

Parts availability is always going to be a concern at 20 years plus, especially for vehicles that sold less/have less survivors. It’d be nice but I can’t really expect Kia to still manufacture new parts unique to vehicles that haven’t been sold for 15 years. (and maybe don’t have the population to support aftermarket parts)

If it’s shared with newer models you’ll have better luck - like how I read somewhere that the Chevy Express is single-handedly keeping parts stocked that also go on a bunch of GM pickups. If it’s a one/two-year oddball like the Borrego, you’re going to struggle. (at least in North America, there’s more elsewhere in the world)
