I've damaged my passenger side mirror and need a replacement. Mine has the turn signal flasher built into it. The part cost of this replacement is $243.

I can find aftermarket mirror assemblies without the flasher for around $50 (I can't seem to locate an aftermarket assemly that incudes the flasher).

I'm tempted to replace both side mirrors with aftermarket versions that do not have the flasher. This will not only make this repair cost less, but I'm sure this will get broken again.

Has anyone ever tried this? Will this cause any problems? Will these aftermarket version wihout the flasher plug into my Kia?

I appreciate any input.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi, These are the ones I added to update my 07 Optima, which are the OEM Korean Kabis 3-way side mirrors with very cool amber running lights, turn signal flashers and a very useful bright puddle light built-in underneath. I connected the puddle light wires to the existing footlight wires, to light up when the door is opened, or when the remote door lock/unlock is activated. They come pre-painted as a set (left and right) in factory colors, with instructions. You will need to remove and re-use the original inner housing and glass with this set. Mine had no original wiring in the mirror beyond power and heat.

Thanks for the options. I ended up ordering aftermarket side mirrors without any lighting on them. They were around $50 each with free shipping and were a perfect replacement.

Thanks again.
