Got an email from Kia saying my two free updates for Navigation have now been done, and any future updates to the maps will require a subscription via Kia Connect at £80 a year. No thanks.
I will NOT be paying £80 a year for sub-standard maps on a system that consistently gives late instrauctions. ("Turn right", after you;ve already passed the junction).
Especially considering the built in sat-nav is weak, cludgy and uses a user-interface thats right up to date, but only if the date is 1996.

Using CarPlay I get a fantastic satnav with some exceptional features, modern UI and flawless dynamic navigation for free. Just plug my phone into the USB port.

I suspect we'll soon get an email saying "CarPlay" will now be a subscription at £9.99 a month. At which point I will just stick my phone to the dash with some blu-tac.

I have been using Apple Car play since 2021, on my Wife's Santa Fe SEL and now we have it on the 2025 KIA Sorento. We have never ever paid for Apple Car play on either vehicle.

I also use Amazon music instead of Sirus or local radio stations. I download my music mix and store this on my phone. I have serval files about 13 hours of music in the files which we play when traveling in the car.
