Hello! I have had a 2009 Borrego Limited V8 since 2016. I purchased as the second owner when it had 92k miles on it, driven by an acquaintance's mother (who is a college professor) since it was new on a 60 mile one-way commute during the school year from Grand Forks to Fargo. I freakin' LOVE this vehicle, and honestly can say that there isn't a single SUV, new or old, that I would rather have. I could write a novel about the things I like about the Borrego, but I will spare you in this thread.

I would only like to change one thing... I want to be able to have my fog lights on with JUST my parking lights, and not only available with my low-beams. Mostly as a lighting choice at sunset or sunrise, between the dark and light times of day. I am aware that this is a typical trait among non-domestic vehicles, where fog lights are only available when headlights are on, but I want to be able to bypass this.

Anyone have any input on allowing the fog lights to be controlled separately from the headlights? I also commonly will drive on rural roads, and would LOVE being able to keep fog lights illuminated when high-beams are on, so all 6 bulbs shine forward. This also would require the fog's to be controlled independently.

Any input is appreciated!

The only way you can do it is by locating the fog light circuit and rewiring it. I have attached a schematic which shows you the fog light switch and the wiring to the fog lights. The second attachment shows you electrical components most importantly the location of the FAM module that feeds the fog lights.
