Replaced the drivers side track rod end, there was some play, which was an advisory was noted at MOT and you could tell as there was a slight wander as you hit cats eyes.

Was very careful to measure up and mark up to the millimetre so tracking would not be affected. Car all drives very well and definitely steering improved....
but there is now a a very slight oscillation in the steering wheel as your driving down a straight road.
Need to take hands off wheel to see, can't really feel it with both hands on wheel.
Is it this vibration was just hidden by the previous play in the system?

Also concerned possible heating of drivers side front wheel, no evidence of disks rubbing pads, caliper not seized , heat is not at rack rod end.
Any thoughts.

Thanks

You are probably right that the vibration was somewhat masked by the previous play in the system. I'd start by taking it to a workshop that can do a full balance & alignment. There are some things us DIYers can't viably do and need to just pay someone who has the kit - especially for something as subtle as you describe.
