Happy Saturday you all!

I don't know if this is an issue with the power sliding-door and tailgate or not.
  • When holding the tailgate button on the key fob, the tailgate does not open all the way up. I have to manually open it. The seller told me that's ok.
  • When the car engine is on, I can not open or close the sliding-door by holding the buttons on the key fob. Again I have to manually step out to close or open them.
Is that normal or is there anything wrong with the key/car?

Thank you for reading!

If you mean fobby no worky from inside van with the motor running, I think that's by design. Otherwise:
  • Are the doors powered on? Check your overhead console and press the POWER DOOR OFF button.
  • Also on the overhead console, you will see individual buttons for each of the sliders + liftgate. Do these work (after checking power to the people to the doors)?
  • Are the child safety locks engaged? These are located on the front edge of the sliding doors (i.e., leading edge, perpendicular to door face).

The seller told me that's ok. (Of course he did.)
Tailgate opening height is adjustable. This procedure can be found on page 4.44 of your owners' manual, found here, among other places. Synopsis:
  • Make sure "Power Door" button (on overhead) is on.
  • Open tailgate and then move door to your preferred height.
  • Press Tailgate Close button on overhead console for several seconds (until it beeps).
If these procedures don't work, see page 4.36 for reset procedures. If that doesn't cure the problems, I note that a 2017 should still be under KIA's 5-yr bumpah-t'-bumpah.
Thank you! I'll check this and report back
