The car was running well when an exhaust flange on the drivers side sprung a leak. The hot gas melted the plastic wheel well. The car did not overheat or show any CEL. The car did stall and was able to start right back. But now the car cannot accelerate or go past 2,000 RPM. Other may call it in Limp mode. I do not see any other melted components. I have fixed the leaking gasket but still wont accelerate.

Anybody got any ideas of the hot gas may have damaged in the area by the wheel well?

Because you had a bad exhaust flange... the material that made up the gasket between the pipes may have gotten blown into the cat and plugged it... You might want to disconnect the repaired flange and blow air back from the tail pipe through this junction to see if you can clear the blockage and recover the Cat.
Just a thought...
