Still a work in progress. 2013 Kia Rio, fully swapped from a 2015 Forte5 sx (auto 6spd trq converter). Have A/C, power steering, airbags, traction control, stability control, ABS, cruise control. Push button start, paddle shifters. All work done by me, in my carport, no lift.

Any input or questions welcome. pics below

Used forte seats for srs. Still need some polishing, and the back doors wired up. But it was a budget build and I'm really, really happy with it. The first 160,000mi was smooth, hope I get 100,000mi after the swap.

No sir but I daily this car. I was going to film the whole thing but decided it wasn't worth the effort. No one cares, and it is easy. I've put about 4k mi on it so far, trouble free. 0-60mph 4.4-4.8 seconds. (Civic type R is 5.0). Any questions ect just hmu on here

I stripped the interior and every wiring harness in the car, used the wiring from the donor forte5 (bought wrecked on IAA insurance auction, delivered with 24k mi for 4,200).

I used the forte radiator, fan, intercooler. It all bolted right in the Rio radiator support. (the holes are there).

Yes forte ECU and all wiring. So I had to make the connectors fit the body of the Rio (side mirror, head lights, tail lights, wheel speed sensor ect). A good deal of splicing there. I used the Rio motor mounts tho, and that part was a direct bolt in. If you are interested in doing the swap, once you buy the donor car, post the picture of it on this thread and I will pm you my cell# and help with anything you need. That goes for any forum member.

My donor car was hit in the front so I had to buy new rad and fan. The forte muffler wouldn't fit so I had to buy one (flomaster fx glass pack, really quite) I spent about 6,500 on the swap including the donor car, delivery, fluids, alignment, ac recharge ECT ECT (all included). My Rio body I bought new in 2013 for 12k. Got my 160,000 mi out of it, and dropped 6,500 for basically a brand new car (24,000 mi). It was just a bargin that made since.

I've never worked in a garage, only graduated high school and didn't have a garage. If I can do it flying blind, anyone can with a little help.

The only special thing was the customer axles, the thedriveshaftshop.com cost me ~1,300$ (included in the 6,500). I have all those measurements for an auto forte 1.6t inner to a Rio outer so you can pre order (I had to do the swap then measure, then wait a month to be made). If your interested, just do it.

Was the forte steering wheel plug and play? I want to swap my rios steering wheel for the flat bottom forte sx
I used the forte stearing colom, and all forte wiring, so yes. But the stearing wheel buttons probably wouldn't work if you just put a forte wheel on a stock Rio. You would have to worry about spline count and colom diameter (the stats for each year I do not know). I'm 99% sure if it fit, the air bag would work after the swap (same srs plugs)
