Hi all, I'm the proud owner of a lovely rio 3 2014 my. The vehicle has very low mileage for its age and has just clocked up 11,000 miles.

It's developed an annoying problem in that over the last couple of weeks the gears have become stiff to select. I've checked the fluid level and that's OK, also the clutch seems OK (pedal is correct height when engaging and no vibration whatsoever). This problem is intermittent and it seems like something is out of alignment and needs adjustment. I thinking maybe there's an issue with the gear selector cables? Is this a common problem on rio's?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I don't know how cold it gets where you live, but it is normal to experience stiff shifting in very cold weather. Does it shift better once the car has been running for 10 minutes or so? If so, it's probably just the low temperature outside.
