I bought some really nice seat covers for my new 2020 Sportage and was able with many scrapes on my knuckles to get them all in place with the exception of the rear seat (note the seat bottom, not the seat back). There is actually no space underneath the seat. Does anyone know how to temporarily detach the seat long enough to get the straps under the cushions.

Also a box I got came with a present, a large hawaiian cockroach. When I opened the back he scurried behind the back seat into a small gap. It would nice to make sure he died back there or chase him out (they fly). Hence another reason to remove the back seat.

There is a video on You Tube that shows you how to do it.

On my 17 you pull up hard underneath the front edge of the seat and they pop off the clips. I had mine out twice to wire in a rear cargo light. I have a thread here with pics if you do a search.
