Yet again another RTFM post...sigh....[opens up manual]...uhhh....[looks some more]....wait....[searches]...well, that's odd.....

Yea, I got nothin'. To be fair, I was looking in the P/HEV manual, but there's no info on recovery hooks at all. Best I can suggest is looking for little removable covers on the bumpers, and if none are found getting underneath and rummaging around for threaded holes on the frame members. There are mounting points for a tow hitch in the rear that could be repurposed for recovery hooks (their location is in the manual), but they're pretty far recessed behind the bumper. Of course, if you have a tow hitch installed, just use that in the rear.

I would take it to my local auto mechanic, put it on a lift, and discuss the most logical places to spot weld to the frame.
Yeah I think that’s going to be the only way, sadly. They made no attempt to design the Sorento for getting pulled out of the snow or mud.

Maybe for the rear you could get a hitch receiver installed and a hitch shackle?
This is what I'm doing right now.

I believe someone has posted in another thread how the test mule had a recovery hook on the front bumper passenger side. But it's below all the plastic and not even sure how to get into there.

The MQ4 does have a front recovery point, but no one would ever find it because they didn’t put an access cover. It’s just about above the passenger fog light and a bit to the middle. You can see it in the old spy photos. You can also see it in accident pictures people have posted. They just didn’t put an access cover for it…

At least on my MY23 Sorento HEV, there is an access port/door for the front tow hook. it's on the passenger side, lower air intake, on the black gloss plastic, to the left of one of the park sensors

Can you take a photo for me to see what that looks like?

you need to push one end of the cover (i think the one with the small arrow). i took a look as i was considering some type of tow hook mount license plate similar to one that i use for another car. but the mounting hole is actually quite recessed behind all that plastic trim/intake
