anyone who ordered in october got news? it was supposed to be 3 months when I ordered, and yesterday I reached the 4 months mark, and the dealer can't give me any news...no VIN nothing...
Ordered an sx in October, My salesman called me 2 weeks ago to not expect anything before march but from what I gather I wouldn't expect anything before May. Someone had posted this to a Quebec Sorrento Group I am in. Delivery estimates from a dealership to get order fulfilled not delivered you can add some weeks depending where you are in the country as the car are getting delivered in Vancouver.

This is great info and does sort of verify the timelines that my dealership provided.
Any idea what the greyed out months might signify?
Ordered (2022 Sorento SX PHEV) in Nov 21 and absolutely no movement; no VIN as of today. Dealership mentioned that Kia gave them new timelines - "For orders made in Nov, expect a tentative delivery timeline around July / August or probably even later" and being that it is getting so delayed Kia apparently mentioned that the "2023 model year will be delivered rather the ordered 2022 model year".

Taking this latest update with a huge pile of salt.
you got to love the word "tentative"
I think those might be when the models delivered might be 2023 instead of 2022
Well after seeing the spreadsheet that was posted above, I decided to confront my dealership with it... And all the sudden they told me that yeah they were contacted by Kia this morning and my October order will now be deliver between May and July! They were calling all the clients today to tell them about the delays.

And apparently Kia told them to not take orders anymore....

I just ordered a Sorento EX+ (HEV, Not PHEV) and I was told 2-3 months but my paperwork said June (which is 4). Who knows! I hope we're not all waiting that long. He did say sunroofs delay production so essentially, anything above LX trim levels...
I am glad that it helped you at least get an honest answer! And clearly that is probably the situation for my order as well so I am happy you shared that.
Hey all, I am new to the forum and would appreciate if I could get some answers to the following questions. For context, I am based in Toronto and this is my first time planning to buy a car since moving to Canada. The hope is to lease a new Sorento in June/July, I am considering EX+/SX with the regular turbo petrol engine.

1. Lease V Finance = I know this is ultimately a personal decision however private leasing is not an option where I am from in Europe so I am trying work our which option makes the most financial sense. Are residual values good on the Sorento? Would it make more sense to do a 36 month lease with nothing down, or put maybe 7/8k down payment and finance the rest over 60 months? (Side note: do people actually finance vehicles here over longer than 5 years? I had never seen that before)
2. EX+ or SX = I'm not sure if the SX is worth the premium over the EX+ as I only really want it for the real leather seats, the other additions are nice however I don't think I would miss them either. Does anyone know if there is more availability for one of these specs over the other?
3. Colour Choice = I would only consider the Wolf Grey or Aruba Green, are there colours which are in higher demand and may be harder to come across on a lot?
4. Stock availability = I know this has been widely covered across the industry but are there any signs of the chip shortages easing in 2022? I'm not sure if its better to enquire now or wait until the Summer and assess the situation. While I like the Sorento I am not necessarily tied to it if there are great delays still.
5. Finally, pricing = I have noticed a slight difference between US and Canadian posters on theses forums, paying over MSRP seems quite common in the States but less so up here? I really could not justify paying list price for a Kia knowing I would never see any of that money come trade in time in a few years when the market has stabilised. What are the chances of even getting 2/3k off list price this year?

Thanks in advance for the help. If anyone has a contact in sales with Kia in Ontario that they would recommend please feel free to share the dealer name/salesperson name. Thanks.

Residuals are good for 2022 vs 2021. Was able to shave off almost 100$ monthly just because of that. We currently lease a 2022 SX for 725$/month, 0 down, 36 months, 20k kms with esthetic protection. I don't think in canada they can sell more than advertised msrp legally but they might add on a bunch of useless stuff. We got a bit less than 2k off but that was in summer, not sure you can get much off currently.

People do finance for more than 5 years but as always more % interest for longer, check the numbers. This winter is cold but I find the turbo to be a pig on gas, around 12l/100km. We had a q5 similar power and in winter it was around 9l/100km. I would not buy this car long term just because of that, and also turbo and DCT. Good luck
I just placed an order for Kia PHEV EX+ in platinum gray on Feb 19th. They said wait times can be anymore from July to January :/

Anyone order a regular hybrid HEV lately in Canada? Wondering what eta you were given.

I was supposed to get my SX by March, I was told that now it'll be delivery by the end of July with luck. ??????

Wife and I placed an order for a 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV on March 7th and were told it could take about a year. We'll also be receiving the 2023 model, which makes sense.
I watch kijiji and autotrader as many dealer platforms put ads up once a vehicle is put in the system and on its way. The demo phev's seem to have decreased the last week especially on autotrader and seeing new phev's added without pictures giving me the impression a boat with units must not be far off. No inside info here, just watching what vehicles are posted.

We ordered our PHEV SX in Mid October and received it first week of December. We scored a cancellation. Mineral Blue with Light Grey interior.

We placed an order in October and we’re told January arrival. Now being told July at the earliest. Only 7 months late if on time now!
I placed an order for a HEV Ex on March 7 at Bessada Kia in Pickering, Ontario. I was told it wouldn't arrive until September. I was also told that if I didn't care what colour the exterior is, it could be a shorter wait time
Hi,

I placed an order in early January for a Sorento PHEV EX, I was initially told about 6 month delivery time. I just got confirmation from my Dealer in the Montreal (Qc) area that at the moment the estimate time to start building the car is in January 2023, with a delivery around March.
