I wrote in an earlier posting about cruise control disengaging for no reason. After bringing it back to the dealer, I was lucky that it disengaged while the mechanic was driving it.
Solution.... tension on the cruise control throttle cable had to be adjusted. Now, this was never a problem before, but a few weeks earlier I had brought the van in on a recall notice that had to replace the main throttle cable....something about ice could freeze it up.... anyway these two cables and their adjustment bracket are in the same close location, and the tension adjustments have to be just right or the cruise module gets confused and kicks off.
So.... if your experiencing cruise control problems and have had any reason to have these cables moved or removed... it could be something as simple as a readjustment to get things straight. These should be of particular interest for anyone with the throttle cable recall.
