I heard that some cars (like subaru impreza) have some connectors under a dash and if you want to read trouble codes, you just have to connect those connectors and turn the key and then the engine-check light starts blinking... and thats how you can read the codes... :)
Can you do that on kia (sephia)? probably not I suppose :( (or maybe yes? :))

go to any advanced auto they will read them for free..
