Hi all,

I'm hoping I can get some advice from fellow Kia owners. I recently purchased a new Sportage 2.0 CRDi and have really enjoyed the vehicle so far. However, this weekend I decided to check the oil after having done a total of 1200km on the car so far.

The oil was a very dirty black colour. I phoned my dealer who informed me that this is known to happen and that the car can be brought in for an optional 1000km oil change to sort out the problem. The oil change was completed yesterday, but today when I checked the oil, it is still quite black and also pretty "watery" i.i it's not as viscous as other oils in other cars I've owned.

Have other Sportage owners experienced this? Is this normal? What oil specifications does the Sportage use?

Thanking everyone in advance.
