check the plug and wires on the MAF for corrosion, make sure the pins are actually making contact. Make sure your air filter is intact, if there's a perforation (or too much oil with aftermarket filters) it could easily the MAF, unless by MAF you actually mean an AFM, those are more robust. Check everything on the intake past the air filter for leaks too.
