My wife was trying to pull out of our garage. The charging cable was attached during charging. We could not get the cable out of the charging port. It seemed to be locked. Without further knowledge of what to do, I unplugged the cable from the receptacle and was able to pull it out. Can anyone tell me what was causing this and how to avoid it happening again?

Maybe a little WD40 on the outside of the plug.

So if anyone is interested, here’s the reply from the Kia Niro Dealer Service guy... “When starting the charging process, the cable needs to stay in the port until fully charged”. But we discovered that if the vehicle needs to be used before the completion, there is another way to release the charging cable. Make sure all door locks are released and then the cable can be pulled from the charging port. Don’t know why, but this works.

Wish the dealer knew all this!
