80k miles

The check engine light turned on yesterday morning, then I went to a mechanic. They used the computer to check, and there are 2 codes, 1 is for the engine oil pressure sensor. They said if I replace it, the 2 codes will probably disappear.

After I went home yesterday(20 mins highway driving), the check engine light turned off automatically..... And it also doesn't turn on again this morning. Should I go to the mechanic again and replace it? They said even the light turned off, I still need to replace it... They asked for $145 to replace it....

Anyone help??? Thanks a lot.

update:
Just came back from another mechanic.... They said I can ignore it until next time it turns on. They said sometimes some impurities like iron filings can affect the sensor. After the engine running at a high speed, filings will go to other place then the sensor work again ... And they asked me to come back when it turns on again. And the cost they asked is less than $100...

So just ignore it???

This is an item you can replace with simple tools and a few minutes of your time...
I don't know if you have a 4 cylinder or a V6 but a search on ebay brings one up for under $25...
New Oil Pressure Sender Fae 94750 37000 for Hyundai Accent Kia Borrego Optima | eBay

Post what engine you have and we'll get you a picture of where it is and what you need to replace it yourself...

Have you checked the level of the oil in your car? When was it last changed (with filter).. KIAs have problems with many NON OEM filters that will trigger the oil pressure light... I use only KIA/Hyundai or WIX brand filters...

Hi Dave,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
So this Oil Pressure Sender is actually the engine oil pressure sensor?
It has 4 cylinders, 2.4L. Thank you so much for the picture and tell me what I need. :)

The mechanic checked the engine oil, they said the engine oil is still good (level and color).
I bought this car early Sep. The seller told me to change the oil at 81K miles. Currently it has almost 80K miles. So next time if I need to change the filter, I should use the OEM one, like KIA/HYUNDAI or WIX?

Currently the light doesn't turn on. So can I leave it until next time it come on? :)

For the filter, you mean this?

or this kind?

Sorry.......... I ignored it....

Another issue for the check engine light is that there is another code 'P0011' come with the 1st one(engine oil pressure sensor). I just use a obd2 scanner to get it. It is stored.
Also I googled this code. Someone said check the oil and filter first, and then check oil control valve, and then check camshaft sensor or clean camshaft....
Could it caused by this? Some impurities affect the engine oil, and trigger the engine oil pressure sensor and then trigger the P0011 code.

Some PID values:
distance since diagnostic trouble codes cleared: 3466kms
time since diagnostic trouble codes cleared: 8249mins
distance travelled while MIL is activated: 42kms
time travelled while MIL is activated: 153mins

I have already cleared this P0011 code....
I think I need to do the oil change and change a factory filter as you said.
