I have a 2004 Kia Sedona EX that i just bought a couple months ago van was running great and had had no problems other than a little rear brake noise. This morning i got up to take my kids to the school bus went out and started my van so it could warm up and no check engine light on at that time but i did notice it was idoling very rough which was something new. I took them to the bus and about half way there as i was accelerating the check engine light came on but it would go back off when i let off the gas and then back on again when i accelerated again and continued to do this until i got back home. I shut it off and came in the house for a while and then went back out and started it and checked it again and the light is now staying on. Please help me as to what might be going on here this is my only vehicle and i need it to be reliable so if anyone has any idea what might be going on here please let me know.

Thank You Very Much.

Best thing to do is take it to an Orielly's or Autozone and have them run a code scan on it. Then you can look those codes up online and find out what the problem(s) is and what you can do to fix it.

well, scan showed #2 cyl missfire. so we changed coil boots, and all 6 plugs. ran fine for a week and started missing again. decided it may be a coil, so i swapped the coil that had been replaced on #6 cyl with the coil on the #2 cyl, scan showed i now have a miss on the #3 cyl! so i was told that the miss moved with the coil(because the #6 and #3 cyl are on the same coil) so replaced coil. its as bad or worse. so i have another set of new plug wires ordered to come in tomorrow.

is there something i may be missing? i dont think it is injectors because its a different cylinder miss firing now.

oh, and i just replaced the waterpump because it was pouring water out. timing marks were all lined up, and everything went together without issues there, so that is not it. by the way, thanks to all the guys that had post up threads with tips and pics for the waterpump/timing belt change. saved me a ton of time! LOL
