Anyone have experience with piggyback ECU units for their Picantos?

If so, I'd like to know which types? I only heard of Unichip in my area.
Would be great if someone with more experience in this area to advise me on the performance benefit. (eg. HP increase, acceleration, fuel consumption, etc...)

Thanks!

im asking SC Setapak before for remapping my ECU, after remap nothing changes can feel, or they only just bluff me away.. after that i go to Korean Car Specialist for the same reason, they said they cant due to Mapping firmware not given to them by KIA... those Malaysia KIA are suckssss... really want to control everything... then i found one place who can manage to install SAFC on my Picanto at Singapore and remap my ECU with Getz Mapping.. now i got better power and FC... KIA SC sucks..

much differ... if u dare enough just try with 1.3... the engine process feel a lil bit differ.. but not enough to use for a long period of time.. now change back to Pica map.. better fuel consumption... SAFC can be installed using Getz ECU diagram.. can do it ur own if u dare enough, or in other word 'if u wanna blow ur stock engine'... i really mean it.. so better find an authorize or specialize worksyop who 'know how'...

ok guys,

according to the Tuner , ECU tuning is not like fixing the 1.3 or 1.6 L MApping into a 1.1 and hope that more HP will be churn out..

okay i was told that Factory default program the ECU to burn richer & also utilised Fuel of lower Octance grade, ie RON 91.....

BUt fuel in our region has RON 95, 97 or some even 98...

So they remap the ECU to take advantage of the higher Octance Grade petrol .... therefore unleashing more HP.... thats abt it...

frankly said, the better way to tune this fucker is by 'driving' it and tune time by time till u get the best tune, if u go to this kind of place, they only test for u once with Dyno, the rest its up to you, and sometimes its no good for the ECU effectively learn itself... email me at [email protected]... i cant tell u here

I checked with my local tuner, Greddy's E-manage Ultimate not compatible with Picanto....at least to me, i think it's because the tuner no confidence to install it.

according to Greddy Emanage's specs, it is very flexible to reprog to suit ANY engines.... hmmm...

actually yes... all Piggyback can be fitted into our Pica... they said like that exactly just because they dont have the confidence and also they dont wanna take responsibilty on whatever happen especially electronically such as ECU and the engine itself.. we too, dont take the responsibilty on something wrong happen, but if u dare enough, just go for it.. and we the only who knows how to install it on ur Pica since we have all the diagram for the ECU.. :)
