Is it worthwhile to fit an oil pressure gauge to my Sportage? Where would the sender be fitted to the engine?
I would also like to install a VHF radio. Whats a good way to fit this and where can it be mounted without drilling lots of holes and having cables hanging around where you dont want them?

It can be done. The oil pressure sender is on block just in front of the oil filter. It is a single wire sender. Remove the current sender and install the fittings for the gauge.

And so the oil light doesn't remain illuminated all the time you can also install a "T" fitting at the block and keep the original sender and the new oil pressure gauge.

There isn't much room to install a VHF transmitter because of the knee airbag. Best location is on the console facing straight up. I have an 11 meter transmitter installed that way.
