Oil Consumption

Lawsuit regarding the engines in these vehicles means lifetime warranty extension on certain engine components.

Not sure if oil consumption means new engine currently - heard of it before but might be dependent on how “generous” Kia corporate is or how sketchy the dealer is.

You can try replacing the PCV valve on the front of the engine, it’s easy (as far as DIY auto maintenance goes) and a $15 part to see if it makes a difference.

You can also call other dealers, make sure they know you have a lawsuit car (otherwise they’ll think “oh, over 100k miles? Screw ‘em”) and maybe you’ll get an oil consumption test - but they’ll probably try to get you to pay for it.

All else fails, you’ll just have to keep driving, maybe it’ll seize, maybe not. Maybe the cats will go, maybe someone will steal and total it, solving the problem.
