Hello every one and happy new year.
I installed today a Kia OEM remote start part number C6F57-ACE01 into my 2018 push button Kia Sorento which was pretty easy as it is plug and play. Installation took approximately 45 minutes. However, when I attempt to start the vehicle remotely, the engine cranks but does not start. All other functions of the fob key and smart key work fine. Any idea of what I may be missing? Needs your help, please.
thanks a lot

I go through the instructions again and see if something got missed. Could be you got a bad part too. Could also be a computer update is needed to use that function.

Update,
I called today Kia customer support dedicated to remote starter issues. After explaining the issue I am facing with the remote starter, the customer support informed me that the respective kit is not suitable for 2018 Kia Sorento SX, as it has some technical issues and Kia is still working on fixing them. The customer service informed me also that there is no other Kia remote starter kit that can fit this vehicle and she advised me to take it off the car pending resolving this issue.

One thing you could try is take it to an auto electrical/electronics specialist shop - seeing that its cranking, they should be able to figure out how to get the "ignition" power on.

There you go. This saves a lot of time wasted otherwise.

I have already contacted Kia parts dealer where I purchased the kit and informed them of my discussion with the remote starter technical support team. The dealer was surprised to hear this. He also called them and was informed of the same thing. Now, since I provided my VIN at the time of purchase and the dealer informed me that this kit fits my car which was proven not true, they should return it under parts warranty terms. The dealer informed me that they are currently working with Kia Parts Division on this issue and will let me know their decision soonest possible.
let’s see what comes up and I will update you, guys.

They typically don't allow returns of electrical or electronic goods, but in this case I expect they'll make an exception, but if you're really would like this feature I'm sure a smart auto elec place would get it working, and there's the option of a third part aftermarket system.

Thanks Ron. Any suggestions from your end? Which systems are good

That's not something I'm familiar with, but have seen good reviews of those that have bought from BestBuy and had them install.
You'll see some of the units include installation.

When I'm looking for tech gadgets, I create a deal alert on the below site, depending on how urgent the need:

Update:
Kia Cheap Parts, the dealer from where I bought my remote starter, called me yesterday and said that they have received a confirmation from Kia Company that the correct remote starter for my 2018 Kia Sorento SX with PTS button is actually the one that has part No. C6F57-ACH01 (listed in Kia parts as suitable for the 2019/2020 Kia Sorento) and that it was a mistake from their side to list kit no C6F57-ACE01 as suitable for 2018 Kia Sorento SX. Furthermore, Kia Cheap Parts advised me that they will ship to me the new kit on Monday. Let’s see if the new kit will work. I will update after the installation.

Another update,
Kia Cheap Parts did not ship the remote starter with part number C6F57-ACH01 as promised. Instead the Dealership sent me last Monday an email with 4 pairs of Kia Sorento photos and asked me to let them know which vehicle is similar to mine. I immediately took photos of the front and rear of my vehicle and sent it to them. I followed with two more emails to ask them what is happening but no reply. Today, I called the Remote Starter Customer Support Team, and asked them if there has been a solution to the remote starter. The lady who answered the call told me the remote starter does not work and will not work with my vehicle and many other Kia vehicles, and they have received numerous calls from dealers and owners complaining about this particular kit. Now, I am at the stage where I will dispute the transaction with PayPal as I have not received any satisfactory answer from Kia dealer and honestly I do not expect I will get one.
