Going to have these put on Saturday:



I had considered General Grabber AT2s, but these look a bit more aggressive with chunkier shoulder lugs, but they should still have decent road manners. Will post pictures once they're on along with first impressions.

You should like them, they are an excellent tire and they maintain a balance ALOT better than the general
Good to hear! I'm jealous of the aftermarket stuff available for the Sorento, BTW...2" of lift would do A LOT for the Borrego. When it's done its duty as a kiddie hauler (If we have a 3rd child the wife is getting a mini-van) I want to experiment with a 1" body lift (should be able to do it with just poly bushings) and see if I could get 1" coil spring spacers made up for each wheel.

I've ran grabbers in the past I liked them but found they needed balanced often. I've worked in the tire industry for 8 years so I've ran alot and seen alot more.


I'm not familiar with the borrego suspension but I'm sure something could be figured out

Unlike the Sorento the Borrego is 4 wheel independent so I would need a coil spring spacer at each wheel. Obviously there is nothing specifically made for it in the aftermarket, but I wonder if there is a standard spacer that would fit. As I said, just 1" of suspension lift would make a HUGE difference.

Got them put on yesterday, ironically, after about 6" of snow with 6-12" headed our way Monday-Tuesday:





They ride nice and quiet, handle well, corner nicely, etc... I'll be testing them out on some snow covered roads this week for sure. They won't perform as well as dedicated winter tires, but I expect that they'll be pretty decent. The real fun will come this Spring and Summer when they get into some dirt.

Even though (for New Jersey) this turned out to be the Blizzard that wasn't, I still got to test these out on some snow covered roads. Hands down the best all-season tire I've ever driven on. Not quite as good as a snow tire, but darn close. Part of this is likely to do with the soft tread compound, which makes for a shorter wearing tire, but I think in the long run it will be worth it. Once the Spring thaw comes I'll post my off road impressions as well.
