Interesting.....I had similar problems with my 2000 Sephia, but mine was covered by the warranty here in Canada, it was replaced free of charge at 99000km. What warranty is remaining on your car, maybe the local KIA dealer can help you too, if not it could be expensive fix. Cost of new tranny here was $1800 canadian funds, so about $1500. US funds. My tranny was slipping on higher speeds in the 60+ mph speeds, wouldn't go into OD at all. Good Luck
