Hi !

I bought a new 1.7 crdi Kia Sportage Style model friday. I drove for about 400 km and today, when I stopped the car, i sensed some smoke like burned plastic. I opened car's capot and I saw white smoke comes out from the back of the engine. I call the dealer to ask him about this problem and he saids that it is normal and it is happened because of some wax (or plastics) used to engine or pipes protection wich is burning at high temperature.

Tell me, please, it is normal ? Did it happened to you too ?

Well,it could be what the dealer said,or the DPF did its thing. You should be ok. Mine did it too.

They are telling you the truth. Your exhaust components have a painted film on them which burns off in the first few hundred km's. nothing to be worried about. Happy driving

The truth is, some dealers are lazy and didn't properly do the PDI / cleanup. So yes, normal if your dealer is lazy.

You'd be surprised how many things need to done to prep before pickup. The stuff left behind, burn/melt off from engine heat.
