One thing you can be sure of.... It will be more expensive!
I hope Kia don't (excuse pun) don't go down the same road as many car companies and once their reputation builds so does the price.

 

If they produce a 6 or 7 speed automatic cee'd, I'll be really interested. I think that the Optima will be too expensive for me and not have the right engine/gearbox combination.
One of my daughters has a Citroen C4 1.6 VTR+ diesel 6 speed auto and she gets over 800 miles per tankful. It sounds like a tractor and I don't like the car, but she doesn't hang about and still acheives remarkable mpg. It's a come down from her Scoobie WRX, but she had to go automatic after bike crash injuries at Rockingham and elsewhere
I achieved 53.7 mpg last weekend on a 290 mile round trip. Cruise control set at 72 mph for 90% of the time, with the odd increase in speed to overtake quickly and safely when required

But then it all depends on the amount. I won one of the new lower £2.50 prices on the Euro last week. My 50p profit doesn't even buy a Mars bar now!

I just want Kia to produce a really economical engine/automatic gearbox combination, with adequate performance, for the Cee'd. Other manufacturers can do it; why not Kia?

 

Here's the new i30 which of course gives us hints to the new Ceed.

But like other Hyundai's which share there platform with a Kia model, Kia seem to make such a better job of the look and body design.

I prefer IX35 vs the new Sportage - sportage looks too "raw" to me.

That little window/glass by the rearview mirror... havent seen yet a car with it that I like.

 

I hated the concept when it first appeared on the Peugeot 307. Now i wish my Ceed_SW had one. It is a nice unobtrusive place to stick your phone/navigation device to.

I agree, if they greatly improve the Cee'd I can understand a price increase (within reason) but as long as they dont start getting too expensive I will be impressed!

Although not getting particularly good reviews the tourer looks good to me.
1.7 crdi 135 bhp 119 emissions...........ticks some boxes.

The i40 is based on the Optima platform. There will be an estate Optima soon too. Now that's a car I would like!

A company car, happy days. I remember when I used to have them in the 1970's and 80's. New one every 2 years or 30k miles, which ever came first. No tax then and free petrol. Still I did work for a bank! :lol:

 

These are only unofficial artists impressions of what the 'touring' version of the Kia Optima might look like, based on the Hyundai i40 Tourer which already exists. The front end is actual Optima.
The Kia Optima exists only as a sedan/saloon (not hatchback) elswhere and will be available as such in Europe and UK from November this year.
Kia have not announced that they will produce a Touring/SW model yet, but I think they will.
Hyundai put the i40 Tourer on the market before the saloon, which will be available soon.

 

Sorry to go off-topic but I have no idea why they are only importing the estate version of the i40. I've seen the sedan in Malaysia and it's sweet especially in white.

Yes, I watched that video. The image they used didn't give much away.

 

If it's anything like the photo behind him, it'll be awful!
That looks like one of the Cal look beetles from years ago, with cut down roof pillars & super high side panels.

That new i30 looks pretty decent though, a 3 door version could be pretty dang sexy.
That i40 looks very like a Ford Mondeo though, and that's not a particularly good thing.
It's not ugly, but it doesn't stand out as being different, something I like about the current Ceed range tbh.
