I have had my Picanto for almost seven years, and have only 20.000 on the clock. I know, I am an old guy and don't need the car all that much.

I have recently got a problem, the engine, when idling at traffic lights etc, is seriously revving and racing. It is making driving very uncomfortable.

Help, can anyone tell me what is happening and what I need to do.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you.

Thank you for the link. It looks as if I have a really serious problem, which seems a shame when the car hasn't done that much mileage. Thanks again.

If you do have crankshaft pulley bolt failure and KIA UK keep fobbing you off and you don't want to pursue the matter legally, then there is another option here:

Cheap DIY Fix for Crankshaft Pulley Bolt Failure

I'd recommend changing your thread title to something that people can see that explains what your problem is like "Engine Idle/Idling Problem" or suchlike?
