aw geez! this is gonna be a big thread!
No one alive actually knows or can even make an intelligent guess as to just how much gas is left in your tank when the light comes on. It is fact over legend that every Rondo is different, some to a great extent, and frankly, most Rondos seem to be different themselves at different times!
I know our '07 LX I-4 has taken about 2.2 US gals when we stopped as soon as possible - within less than ten miles - after the light came on while on a highway trip. We seldom catch it that soon and sometimes only the next day when around town.
We go by our well-established mpg and the suggested size of the tank to figure how many miles we can go on a tankful. The gauge on ours seems pretty consistent. I've read and heard some are complete mysteries.
Sadly, you're probably just going to have to play around with it getting it as soon after the light comes on and see for yourself, on yours, how much is left. (Even then, the exact fill-up volume is in some dispute, shrouded by mystery probably stemming from some ancient, tribal, Korean religious laws.)
I envy you the Black Cherry color. It was our first choice but we settled for Volcanic Red, which we also liked, because it was the "other color" available then besides silver! We like the red, being almost exactly the color of our old Sedona we traded in. Our neighbors were unaware for some time that we had even traded! (One asked if we had a new car or something and I told her, "No, the dam*ed cheap Korean crap shrank when we left it in the rain! I'm not entirely sure she does not believe this!)
