Does anyone have experience buying/installing driving lights on a Sorrento without them? I have the plastic inserts and no OR wiring harness. I’d love to further upgrade the vehicle visibility in the rain.
I have a 2014 base model Sorrento we bought used. Didn’t test drive it much in the dark, but found low beam headlights are horrible. Upgraded to Sylvania brightest and best, but really no difference. After much research on LED lights I invested in LED bulbs from LASFIT. While still built outside US, they have warehouse, offices and customer service in California. Bulbs are designed for the Sorrento and are a huge improvement!!! But you will have to modify the electrical socket to make them work. Pretty easy though.
Now if I could only add driving lights as well...

first make sure your head lights are aimed properly.

If that doesn't help, then try upgrading the existing bulbs to H7 65-watt bulbs from: Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply

If that isn't satisfactory enough, then look into getting a relay wiring harness to send more current to these bulbs, but it'll be at the expense of bulb life.

If that still isn't enough, then sure, buy some high quality driving lights and mount them properly, feed them lots of battery power with a relay kit.

Thanks for the info. Daniel Stern consultantcy sounds like good idea. Thanks for referral. The lights are aimed well, and adjusted downward after I installed the LED bulbs for better lighting right in front of view, and keeping out of eyes of oncoming traffic. Just wish I had bought a model of Sorrento with the factory driving lights and wiring harness!
