okay, so i just put in a new alternator and changed belts on a 02 kia spectra and i started it up and it ran fine but as soon as i let it off the jack and fired it back up it has a loud ticking sound like lifter or something. never made this noise before. i just thought it was weird it heppening right after i changed that stuff out. just looking for some suggestions on what it might be. any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't know for sure. BUt , id add some SeaFoam Cleaner in a can to the intake and fuel line . This stuff is very very good and used by mechanics for decades. Get it at walmart for about $9 . I use it regularly for maintenance of my 3 vehicles . Go on YouTube to see how to use it.

He most likely over tightened the belts with tensioner.

As far as valves/lifters noise - it happens if engine oil is too thin. Heavier/thicker oil will quiet it down, say using 5w30 as opposed to 5w20.
