Santa (actually Mrs. Claus) brought me a new 2015 Optima EX for Christmas. I like to really protect new car paint so normally I would use a really good wax like P21S Concours Carnauba Wax or Pinnacle Souverän Carnauba Paste Wax. In a nutshell, carnauba car wax does give a show car shine IF you are willing to spend a couple of hours every month or so to get it since you really need to reapply wax every 4 weeks to insure maximum protection.

Lately, I've been reading lots of reviews about Carnauba Wax vs. Paint Sealants. Unlike wax, paint sealants are kind of the anti-carnauba because they simply last a lot longer and you can't beat the durability. A premium paint sealant can last 4+ months, sometimes longer. Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze, for example, is said to last up to 12 months. And Klasse sealant is safe to use on glass, rubber, trim, headlights, etc., The down side, it can be difficult to apply. The most frequent complaints about KSG or other paint sealants have to do with the difficulty with removing it after application (hazing, very tough to remove).

So my question is, has anyone used a paint sealant, in particular Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze on your Optima? If yes, what has been your experience when it comes to durability (how long it lasted & shined) even after multiple washings, any problems applying it, undesired affects (or is it "effects")?

I am looking for actual experiences, no opinions please.

For reference, I found this article from an expert detailer who provides an easy, assured process to apply KSG to in order to insure trouble free long lasting high shine results. He got tons of replies saying it works!
