Just got call from Dealership
They replaced the starter relay (solenoid) and they stating it solved the problem
I will pick up the car today and will keep it outside overnight to see if it will start on the morning
If not I am getting close to "lemon law"
Did this solve the issue? We are picking out Sedona up from the Dealership this morning with a "we aren't sure what is wrong with it" diagnosis because it didn't get cold enough while they had it to duplicate the issue - but this is like the 6th time we've had to have it towed or dropped off because it's too cold and won't start.

We are having trouble with our Sedona when the temperature drops. All the electronics come on (radio, lights, etc.) but the engine doesn't make a sound - no turning over, no clicking. It's happened multiple times over two years - it is unable to be jumped. We've tried a heat lamp and still was unable to be jumped. We have replaced the battery twice, the alternator, and nothing has stopped the issue. By the time we get the car to a garage or the KIA dealership it's not under 10 degrees out anymore and it starts right up. Anyone have a similar issue or a thought on how we can fix it besides hiring a mechanic to work at midnight in my driveway ha.

This is a 5 year old post... Do not rule out a weak batery, it's #1 cause of start failures in cold weather. For reference the "Starter Solenoid" is physically mounted on the starter, if key start you have a "Starter Relay 1" in the engine fuse box, if you have PB starting you also have a "Starter Reley 2 " in the fuse box. Starter Relays 1 & 2 are relatively low cost, starter solenoid is still considered low cost, but more labor to replace. Way back to 5 years ago ,good practice is to replace the solenoid with the starter, but we can not assume what a dealer does. The OP did not clarify this , said 'Starter Relay (solinoid) was the fix.'. Maybe we will hear back... Rather than spending a lot of time at the dealer, I would just pop in another starter relay 1, if no change then relay 2, if not that a starter solinoid, hope you are under warranty as after that diagnosic cost or swapping parts gets $$$.

Please fill in required forum member information...year,engine type/size AND general location of vehicle(NE USA, Mid West USA). It will help those who would try and help you to know what you have and where due to some areas having common problems not normally found in other areas.
BUT if you have interior power to things and yet NO starter motor action, then it could be a bad starter motor solenoid or corroded wires (for power) to it. Corrosion INCREASES electrical resistance to go thru what is wanting to be worked and cause failures. Colder temps will exaggerate the problem.

... and won't start.
Same questions as previous post: does the starter crank? DO lights stay on while you (try to) crank? Does it crank normally but engine will not fire up ?
ANd Sedona...what? year ? engine ? Location ?
Make it clear...that is the only way you can get relevant replies.

A few posts moved/merged to previous thread created by the OP - had to take a guess at what Y/M seeing as the initial thread was found in the wrong section "Other Kia Models".
