Hi, I am sorry I must of typed in the wrong Kia. I am interested in the Sedona as I have 4 Grandchildren and I wondered how safe and or happy if anyone has purchased one. Also if this is to personal please don't answer it. I was wondering did anyone pay 14,000 or around that price. Reason being my daughter was quoted in Dec. 04 13,888.00 and I am looking around and I am seeing much higher prices? hank You very much for any information on the Sedona....Pat :) :)

Hi Pat,
I purchased (as did my father in law) a sedona diesel new in january (54 plate) bog standard manual with metalic paint for £14300 from Westdrive in essex. I had the dealer tint the windows gently (didn't want the jet black funeral / drug dealer look) who matched the quote out of yellow pages for £200 (half what the wanted...). Very happy with it but factory stereo and speaker are low quality and steering lock is attrocious so you should 3 point turn on the test drive. Have the money off not the dvd player as you can get the same for £500 fitted at car hifi specialists. Note its very wide. I presume its safe but I don't intend to crash it so who knows if you need 15 airbags ? but I will add that the backs seats have a nice gap between them and the rear window unlike its rivals ( they also move / recline independantly if the grand children are sleeping / killing each other..../). My father in laws has done 25000 and has just had (easy to change) new front brake pads and tyres.
Try one Pat and the competion and buy what you like bearing in mind any american forum will say every people carrier (minivan.....) is rubbish and unreliable (I looked).
eco :)

we have a kia sedona 2002 model, no preblems at all, we had one issue with the ABS electronics chip but that was only because it got very cold (Switzerland) and we were away for 2 months and the car hadnt been used...probably humidity

very powerfull and a lot of torque, too much for the stock tires, but its nice to see a Jag looking at you with square eyes ;-)

i am trying to replace the radio now, so we will see how good the compatibility to after market is (making aq VGA Touchscreen in the double din and a PC under the Seat or whereever...)

This Vehicle is wonderful if you get the one with the DVD Player for the Kids
The one that we purchased was around $25000 with rebates and it was fully loaded with DVD/TV CD Player Leather Sunroof V6 Remote Entry and Dual Power Seats and we absolutley love it.

It had also the spoiler and hitch on it.

The Kids enjoy the DVD TV when we go to town

Front and Rear AC is Awesome

Out here if you are quick you can find one of the "1 only" newspaper advertised vans for about that price, which is typically an LX. The safety ratings on the Sedona are good, partly 'cause they are so heavy, which also contributes to the poor gas mileage. But I am perfectly happy with my EX.
