'07 Kia Sedona - Almost immediately after left turns, the van either revs too high between gears, or (on larger slow turns) doesn't shift at all and engine hesitates hard (almost feels like it shuts off and brakes with the drivetrain) while briefly illuminating dash lights: Parking Brake, Battery, ESC

Easily reproduced and usually drags down for 0.5 to 2 seconds before perking back up and driving "normally" with no dash lights again. Next time I turn left, issue repeats. Right turns don't seem to be an issue, but still diagnosing.

  • No Engine Check Light on
  • OBD scan doesn't return any codes.
  • Transmission fluid checked. Still red, slippery, and full.

- I've read a lot about replacing Input/Output transmission speed sensors, but those symptoms don't quite match what I'm experiencing.

Any guidance is appreciated.
It's an old van with 128k miles, and I'm just keeping it together as best I can.

Check your grounding. I just did 8 or 9 grounding points in the Sedona engine compartment including the negative battery terminal. All the grounds were crap, on painted metal. Also, check the positive battery terminal. Mine had to be disassembled and cleaned off ( light
corrosion ).
