Did anyone receive their personalized debit card yet, that would reimburse us for the difference in the EPA combined fuel economy rating, based on the fuel price in your region and your actual miles driven? In addition, recognizing the inconvenience this may have caused, received an extra 15-percent premium to your calculated reimbursement amount.

Did my verification at the dealership on 11/6/12 & no follow-up on the behalf of Kia & no personalized debit card in the mail!

I'm glad this thread was started. I was about to start one myself. I was at my dealer on 11/8/12.

Quote from the faq on the website:

"How soon will I get compensated?

We will do everything we can to ensure prompt and proper reimbursement. Once you have registered for the program and visited your dealer for ownership and mileage verification, we expect you will receive compensation within fifteen business days."

So I should be seeing mine by the end of the week.

I know others went to there dealers before I did so it would c be great to hear if anyone actually received it yet.

I registered at the dealer on Nov 7. I was told by the dealer that it would be 4-6 weeks to receive the debit card.

My dealer echoed the faq I posted earlier. But then again I rarely put much stock in what the service dept tells me.

Yes - Good timing on this thread to remind everyone to get your RIO registered for this program before the end of the month. When I brought my car over to the dealer to certify ownership/mileage I was told by the Service Manager that the people coming in with their forms know more about the reimbursement program than they do! KIA told the dealers that if a client had any questions about the reimbursment program they are to direct them to the Website - no kidding. The KIA dealers were not even given a general overview of the program

IMO the dealers should be calling all affected clients to make sure they registered for the program - as a measure of good faith. I won't buy another car from my local KIA dealer just because they did not have the common courtesy to notify me by email or phone about the reimbursement program

yeah that would be nice but lets face it I would bet the number of claims actually filed will be quite low and that will save Kia tons of money.

I asked my brother-in-law about the program when he was over for Thanksgiving since he was the general manager of the dealership I bought my Rio from last month. He knew very little about the program.

It's not up to the dealers its KIA Motors America that should be notifying you, it seems like people that are not getting notified are located in the US. I was notified by KIA Canada via email the day after it was announced then a few days later (via email) to say the site was now set up to accept the VIN number so you could find out what you were entitled too. Then within about 10 days after the announcement I got a letter in the mail telling me all the details.
I should also add that KIA Canada posted details on their Facebook page and also my dealer posted the same on his Facebook page.

I was not contacted by my dealer at any time (mind you he knows that I'm on forums and read his Facebook page, so I might not be a normal customer), however, when I went to process the claim and get my mileage verified they knew all about the details and how to process your order for getting reimbursement. All details were provided to the dealership by Kia Canada

I did receive an email from Kia Motors America which referred me to the web site and a toll-free phone number number.

Ok, so I called the customer service number listed on the website. the lady I spoke was vary nice and told me she couldn't discuss my claim but if I could tell her the date I went to the dealer she could count the days until I receive my card. I told her 11/8 and she said I was on my 13th day of the 15 days but I should give a day or two for the thanksgiving holiday.

I am the 3rd owner of a 2012 Kia RIO 5.
So what happens to all the previous owners?
Nothing, who out there keeps the VIN on every car they have owned?
No one, so Kia is not going to have to pay any of my cars previous owners a dime.

First owner had it from 0 to 2500, Second lease owner had it till 6799 and that is when I purchased it from the local Hyundai dealer.

Currrently I am due a whopping $13.78, but previous posts state this is an ongoing program and my amount should go up as I use the car as a daily driver.

So, just spoke with a very nice lady named "Jordan" from the KIA Fuel Economy Adjustment Reimbursement department (855-912-5648) & she said I should be receiving my card today or tomorrow...will keep you guys updated! Furthermore, she stated that the card could be reloaded by KIA every 90 days, better than nothing, I guess!:)
