Hi,

I am trying to establish if I have Kia parking sensors.

My dealer fitted them front and rear - their is a small rocker switch fitted below the cruise control button.

The rear ones are always on in reverse - there is no way to turn them off (for example when towing :( in reverse ) The front ones turn on via the rocker switch.

The sensors themselves are black & the bumper is of course grey.

What sort of price would these be?

Thanks.

Where I am, there are parking sensors available as kits (not Kia) for both front and back priced at around US$80-90. The reverse sensors are automatically activated when you put your gear in reverse; the front sensors (on both corners) can be switched on or off. The aftermarket shop had to drill through the bumpers to fit the sensors in, of course, and thread the wires to the dash. Mine has a display that shows which corner of the vehicle is getting close to an object and also reads the distance (in meters).

:p
I had Cobra reversing sensor's fitted from new, but NOT by my Kia dealer. I went to a car electric specialist who highly recommended these & I have been very happy since ........... ( March 04 )
They also fitted a little switch where the 'jack' sits in the rear of the car, so when I am towing a trailer or my caravan I can put the car in reverse, press this switch & it dissables the sensors .... very nifty Eh!

Kia use the Cobra kit.
The fronts are selectable, i.e always on, unless you press the switch for off, adding a switch to the rears is fairly straight forward.

I've just got my Sorento, I'm also looking to fit some reverse sensors

I did a search on the net and found a few people who will come to work/home and fit them

about 150 quid....better than the £350 quoted by the Kia Dealer!
