KIA messed up on the paint process and in turn screwing over anyone that purchased the vehicle.

I was offered a free repaint which I accepted and in the legal letter with the terms of the repaint was offered 5k for the inconvenience of having to go through this process. I was without my vehicle a $40,000 beautiful car for over a month. In the letter it states if you a good will gesture of 5k will be given for going through the process of getting the repaint.

Later in the letter it states I can do a repurchase of my vehicle or replace the vehicle if the paint job is not acceptable. No where in the letter does it say I wont be receiving the 5,000 if another option is taken. After not having my vehicle for a month I get it back and parts of the vehicle are painted incorrectly or not at all. Again NOT my fault or problem.

They offered to fix the affected areas AGAIN but I'm not going to be without my car for another month for shoddy work. So I opted for the repurchase option because the work was poorly done otherwise I had every intention of keeping the vehicle as I LOVE the stinger and the yellow.

They tell me I will owe my negative equity for vehicles I traded in. HELL NO I DONT. the paint issue is not my fault or problem I agreed to the contract of this vehicle and trading my cars for this vehicle. This is KIAs problem not my own. And they bound themselves legally by telling me I get 5k. I'm taking this to the news and Sueing KIA for the money owed as it's in the thousands. Unless KIA can fix this issue I advise everyone to steer clear of KIA they are Unethical and do not take care of their customers.

Was the paint messed up in the factory?

How does this "screw over anyone that purchased the vehicle"?

Would it be possible to post a copy of these documents that you reference, with personal details removed?

I will update the profile when I'm at home on my PC it's a 2018 yellow stinger. Yes it was defective from the factory then KIA had it repainted and they messed it up again.

KIA isnt standing behind their product and multiple mess ups and either I have to accept the incorrect paint. Or pay my negative equity and give the car back to them.

Without a doubt there's shady Kia dealerships, as can be found with most manufactures, but none of us here can really side with you or the dealership without seeing the actual detail of what was agreed between the two parties.

The atraction of the 5K and signing the document would mean you don't qualify to go the Lemon Law direction, or at least I doubt it.

I went straight to the buy back since they said they wouldn't paint the plastic, just the metal. My buy back documents clearly say that you get the 5K if you accept the repaint. You would get the 5k check after 30 days of accepting the repaint. As far as the negative equity, they aren't going to give you that, but they are giving you back any payments already made on the car, plus paying off your loan, and reimbursing you for any aftermarket accessories you put on it. So basically they let you use this car for free for however long you owned it. IMO they are being very generous. Most manufacturers with paint problems tell you to get bent or will repaint the effected areas without any compensation. Any of them would also not buy the car back without some kind of battle.
