Hello,
Have a 3.8L 2007 Kia Grand Carnival bought new and have currently 106,000 Kms on the clock.
Have searched and have not found any site that have information about some of the on goinging issues that may be affecting them in Australia.
Just want to mention the latest issues which I am experiencing now.
Problem: Under heavy exceleration, the car starts physically shaking , and when the required speed is reached eg 100km, the shaking stops.
Solution: The inner CV joints were worn and and complete CV shaft replaced by a new after market CV on both left and right sides for $550 inc labour at a CV specialist. Problem fixed!
Problem: When turning into driveways or turning on roundabouts a obvious loud groaning suspension sound can be heard from the front of the car.
Solution: This description could describe alot of suspension noises, a KIA dealer is the best to talk to about this initially. In my case this was caused by a faulty sub chassis rubber mount of which there are 4 of directly below the engine. The drivers side rear was at fault this time.
(Whilst the car was under warranty around 60K , a different one went faulty).
Not resolved yet. Was Quoted $225 to replace one, but will get all 4 replaced hopefully at a better price.
Your KIA dealer is the only place to get these replaced as they have a special KIA tool to do this job(my local does) which looks like it needs to get pressed in. I had visted a suspension place and they had no idea how they would change it.
Along the way, I had the faulty aircon pulley, middle row seat drivers side that would not flip up, all replaced under warranty
I am posting this with hope other KIA grand Carnival owners can share the probs they have along the way and hopefully no major ones or even none at all!
