I have a Y reg (2001 , now has 4000KM on the clock) Kia Carnival LS 2.9TDi that I bought in Munich and has all the owners documentation in German. Can anyone help me to find out when the timing belt should be changed.

i have seen an item on a forum site about a problem with oil mixing with water causing the engine to sieze. Has anyone heard of this one before - I was unsure if this was the petrol or deisel models. :innocent:

The Diesel Timing belt should be changed at 54k miles on pre 02 models, and 60k miles on 02 and above models.

The petrol engines have an issue with liners lifting, but on a certain chassis range there a bad batch of Diesel heads out there, but most should've been fixed by now.
