Next i have a alternator with vacuum pump but i dont have the screw that connects to the back that has a hollowed center and hole for the oil to flow to a pipe which is connected to the engine again .

My Kia Besta behaves almost perfectly. I also had experienced an overheat problem but was fixed after the radiator was thoroughly cleaned. It proved its durability especially in long distance travel like from Cavite to Mindanao and vice-versa without any problem. It was able to survive the Tacloban-Calbayog (Philippines' roughest) hi-way. You bet!
It had 145km in the log when I bought it 2 years ago. Now it is at 177km.

My need for this 'beast' is a source for genuine KIA parts. I replaced the front suspension bushings last february and it had worn out right after my Mindanao trek last month.

Can somebody here give us information where to buy and what brand are best for the Kia besta 2.7? I had been using 555 brands for the tire-rod ends and rack-ends. How about the suspension bushings?

Wow all your Bestas are new. Mine's a 1987!! I'm in canada and the Besta is brilliant for all the varied tasks i need to do. However it's getting old and I need a way of finding parts...... anyone North American Around here who could lead me to a source?

hi all! im new here... im searching for pictures of kia van 2.7. i have an old one i wanted to fix the details on it but dont have any idea what are missing... i tried google and alltheweb.com even yahoo but found nothing (small pix lang).. pls anybody help me..

i bought it second hand na.. the body is newly painted and repaird narin.. engin is 2.9 from pregio. but during the repair a lot were missing like radiator grill wer broken..etc. especialy sa loob ng van ang daming kulang na details.. im not quite gud in cars sorry for that.. help pls...

Hi guys I just bought a kia besta 2.2 delivery van , medyo maingay yung makina yung parang may clunking sound sa loob. Sabi nung pinagbilhan ko kaka overhaul lang non pero para sa akin maingay nlike my L300. Sabi naman ng isang mekaniko kailangan daw ibaba yung makina at i pa machine shop at baka mali yung pagkakaadjust nung valve, ano kaya yon tama kaya yung advice non? at yung usok niya puti at yung radiator may langis na lumulutang pero maliliit lang. Ano kaya ang madvice ng mga nasa forum, pls help me guys

KIA Bestas normally have quiet and smokeless engines. Mine is! White smoke indicates presence of water on the combustion chamber. There is a high probability that the cyclinder head gasket has a leak. If it was overhauled, then it was a BAD OVERHAUL! OPEN UP YOUR ENGINE AGAIN.

I NEED PURCHASE ADVICE. I am in US and may buy a Kia Besta in Cebu city from a car dealer (not in person). My friend there says it is 14 passenger and the price is 190,000 pesos. I do not have the year and mileage yet. Is 14 passenger correct? That sounds way too high. Also, what tests could he do on a test drive to make sure the car is OK? I assume he will watch for overheat, AC function, steering and suspension issues. This forum has been helpful to me. I own two Kias in US (2000 Sportage and 2004 Sedona) and have had quite a few problems (most under warranty). How much might it cost to operate and insure this vehicle in Cebu. I plan for my friend to use it to carry passengers down in the Argao area. Is Mitsubishosubishi a better vehicle? Or some other (Pajero is way too expensive, and Shem minicabs too small). I used to have a '98 Besta 2.2 EST. Got it new. Sold it in '01 in favor of my [current] '96 Pajero.

I have the whole parts catalog [parts dealer let me photocopy his].

It was a nice van. Not very refined but simple to work on.

I burned out the alternator twice, the interior side panels have a tendency to warp and turn ugly.

I don't regret getting that van. I don't regret selling it either.

Hello All. I have a 1996 Besta 2.2 and have been satisfied with its performance. It has run about 250,000 kms Already . Lately its showing up its age, overheating, A/C brokedown,, water pump breakdown, oil leaks, starter solenoid, and others basically engine problems. I was thingking the best economic solution is to replace the engine. Does anyone know how much a surplus 2.2 or a 2.7 engine Cost and where to get one? Would changing it to a 2.7 engine be ideal?

We own 1992 hi-besta. some minor adjustments needed. Sensor location ( temp sensor, radiator, fuel level)... need some inputs on the connection..

Hello Guys, Bago lang po me rito. i have a kia besta 2.7 engine. ang problema ko lang eh ang lakas ng ugong at malakas ang tunog ng makina. wala naman siyang tagas. i don't know kung sa air intake ang problema kc nakalagay ito sa ilalim ng driver seat. can anyone help me. plss.... or if not show me where is the air filter really is located or mounted... kung may pic kau ng makina mas ok.... I have the same problem too. If someone have send you a "User or Service Manual" for Kia Hi-Besta van, can you share it with me through this forum. Perhaps and downloadable one. The Engine is an R2 model but I don't know if its 2.2 or 2.7.
