The key fob for my 2004 Optima stopped working. I replaced the battery in it and it still does not work. The red LED lights up but the doors do not lock/unlock. I checked the fuse and it is good. I found a TSB online about the transmitter losing memory. Does anyone know where the transmitter is located in the car?

I recently took 2 fobs to my Kia dealership to get programmed and I was told it had keyless entry. Unfortunately, neither one was able to be programmed, so either I was mislead or it went out on the car side. This may be why your fob is not working despite lighting up. I have the 2007 V-6 LX. I am unsure if it was standard, but I thought I read somewhere that keyless entry was standard for the V6 (this is an LX though, so that may be my issue).
