I have the shell for a key fob. It has everything but the circuit board inside. Does anyone know where to get that? Went to the dealership to have my metal flip key moved to a new keyfob because it broke on the metal part and the tech had no idea what he was doing and when trying to put it all back together couldn't get it to spring up. I had done this previously so when I got home it took me 2 minutes to do it. And when I looked at where he put the pin back in he made it so I can't replace it like that again. And when I asked about cutting the blank he said it was $90 and it was just the straight piece not including the part that makes it flip up. What a rip off. He didn't even mention a new fob. Researching it looks like amazon has the whole thing but would have to pay to have it cut and programmed. I have also seen where there is a way to program it yourself(not sure if my particular model would work that way) Batteries plus also has it for way more and you still have to pay a fee to cut and program. Anyone know if the diy programming works?

I just joined or I would have replied here sooner. Self programming on my 2012 there was no way to do it. You need the gizmo that plugs into the dash to do it. My mechanic did it in 3 min for free. I got a local locksmith to cut my blade for $45. He assured me there was a chip in the key and it would never work. I assured him he was wrong, that 2012 was the one year KIA did not chip they key.

It works perfect.
