I have a 2007 Kia Rio LX and I have a strange issue that has been going on for a couple of months. Here is the basics

1. Get gas (usually only occurs if its half a tank or less), I usually fill it up till it clicks

2. Start car, car doesn't start

3. If I press the gas pedal a little bit while starting it fires right up

Also found out that if I start it up and then turn if off for 5 minutes I have the same issue (basically found it out when getting a drink from inside the gas station aka had issue, cranked up car, drove it about 50 feet, turned it off, spend about 5 minutes in the gas station, had same issue).

I usually put in 82 octane gas. This starting occurred shortly after replacing the brake pedal switch.

Any ideas?

This is caused by your purge valve. Fairly cheap and easy to replace. Log onto kiatechinfo.com, register, and you will be able to view everything you need to replace it. Basically a full manual for the car. Hope this helps.
