I had someone working on my Kia optima (16v, 4cyl) in my front yard. It's Michigan and the snow came. The alternator is out of the car, and the distributor belt and alternator belt are also off. I wanted to push the car out of my front yard and onto the pad in front of the garage.
I turned the key to the "on" position and put the car in neutral but I cannot get the car to move. I was going to ask the neighbor to try and push it gently with his vehicle but was afraid I would make things worse.
I'm I missing out on a trick to get thing moved? I'm used to throwing a car in neutral and moving it wherever. What if the Kia breaks down in traffic...would I be unable to push it to the side of the road?
Thanks in advance for any help. I'm hoping I don't have to pay a tow company to move my car 10 feet.
