Greetings,

I have an '01 Sephia. I have the service manual checked mitchell's and AllData for stteps to remove the alternator. I have it removed from the bracket but the space is too tight to ake it out of the engine.

What else do I need to remove to get this alternator / generator out?

Any help from 1fastkia or any other members would be appreciated.

Thanks
LP

it will come out with a little wiggling... With the cars with ac you might have to remove the intake manifold.. I didnt have to but some have..

With my '02 Spectra, I had to remove the evap cannister from the firewall and the cruise control from the strut tower and the bracket for either the power steering or air conditioning hose off the inner fender and a ground wire from the intake manifold. Even then, it was not easy trying to turn and lift the alternator with one hand to find the right angle.

Dont remove the intake!

1998 sephia with A/C. Relax and get the small stuff out of the way like the evap bottle, remove hold down clamps from the P/S steering hoses and gently nudge them to the side. Then just work it up and out.
