The tailgate glass on my car got smashed, so I must replace it. Can you suggest an effective procedure for doing this?

I have a replacement window, but I'm not sure where to start.

Please assist.

For starters, how do the glass mounts work? Here's one that attaches the glass to the hydraulic lifter.
How does it come apart? There's no place for a torx or screwdriver.

OK. Here's how the glass mounts that attach to the lifters come apart.

I'm still unable to undo the glass mounts for the wiper assembly.

I pried open the wiper assembly and removed the mounts. How do these come apart? There seems to be no way to unscrew this.

I've tried everything I can think of. I don't know how to separate the flat round disk end from this bolt assembly.

No one has offered any suggestions.

I decided to order the Kia parts for these bolts. I hope when I receive them, how they go together will seem apparent.

By the way, I think the hinges for the glass window might be broken/damaged. So, I've ordered new hinges.

I won't have the hinges until tomorrow or Saturday, so I'll update you then.

I have the new hinges. I don't know what the plastic strip is for. One came with each hinge.

I suspect that's because most folks that may have had one break would get the insurance to replace it , with no deductible for glass.

You're making good progress and it will be helpful to someone else that may tackle it DIY.
